Sweet encounters with a stranger.

There are times, not frequent though, when you come across people and with just one look, you respect them. They're so pure that even looking at them would dirty them and you dare not disrespect them by giving a second look. I've experienced this a couple of times.. The following incident is when this one look extended to a few encounters in couple of days.
December the 25th, 2012, Christmas Day, a pure day, a pure, holy location, on the bank of the Ganges..
She, a foreigner, was present at the daily ritual, the aarti of the holy Ganga, at an aashram in Rishikesh, Uttrakhand, India. Sitting the indian style on the marble platform, facing the pyre. She was as much at peace as the holy river. Her face radiating purity, peace, tranquility. She commanded respect. She was beautiful. The smile on her face was at prefect sync. with the chants of hymns and the rolling of the river. The red of her cheeks were enough to give warmth in that chill.
After the ritual, when people started to move out of the GHAT (River bank), this group of foreigners, which she was a part of, attracted the crowds' attention, whites still attract attention in india, rural india. After that monkey dance, I went to ask them to excuse us. Had a small chat with the lady. Got to know that she's an Ukrainian and how much she loves india and it's culture and i reverted how difficult it is to be an indian. We spoke for ten minutes amidst the sounds of humanity, humanity on microphones, the river, the air. We left after that.
I encountered her a couple of times again and each time, i was flushed with delight...
27th morning, time to depart. Leaving with a constant thought to see her before leaving. And i did see her, bade goodbye.
It was great time, beautiful time. With no regrets.
I didn't ask her name. I didn't desperately tried talking to her. We had beautiful encounters.Sweet encounters.
Looking back.. I smile.. These sweet encounters with a stranger are registered as one of the most beautiful incidents that has happend to me.

...

There is this strange, mystic emotion environing around, like a halo it surrounds me... I just wish it means i'm god or one of his angels.. But sadly not... Ah... Grey, dark melancholy... You blossom in my desert... You're the only plant in my courtyard filled with dust and sand, with little swamps of joy, trying to survive the predator..

me, economist...

huh... some how i always come up and write my brains out (not to a great extent) only when i have my exams....
i have my economics paper tomorrow, it's a prepratory for my graduation finals, it still is important, and yet again, as usual, i'm least interested...
the thing that is going in my mind could rather be offensive to some, so i'm a little hesitant in writing about what's going in me (it's contradictory to the objective of the blog-to write what's in my brain)...
there's always many things going on in a person, discretion should be made before writing shi*, especially in extra-sensitive indian society, so i drop the idea of writing what i actually thought of.

instead, i shall bring out my katha (story),
reading/studying economics always caffeines up the dormant economist in me... i tend to bring out my own theories and do situation analysis of the current times and trends in indian and world economies...
the apathy of today's youth towards economics and politics is very apparent due to the fact that these subjects involve a lot of theories to mug up, and our education system does not permit practical reasoning, so students distance themselves... if extreme theories are kept away, and logic is given a chance, they are rather interesting subjects...

one of my such analysis was about the demographics of india. we're the fastest growing population in the world... this is pertaining to a lot of reasons prevailing in our system and also society (i try to differentiate the system and society, 'cause in india, they are never in sync.).
the societal reason can again be various ...
1. lack of entertainment, not everyone has access to bollywood.. (humour)
2. competition with the neighbours or other known person.. (lol)
3. lack of knowledge..
4. and growth of radicalisation in some section of population (that too in 21st century)
i wonder when some of us are actually moving ahead, why do the others want to go back and the remaining are trying to curtain the shame under the banner of 'india shining' or 'incredible india'...

i shall write the remaining part when i face an economics paper the next time (oops, the next time is the final, i hope that i actually study books and my inner economist remain dormant...)

let peace prevail...
